Lots of unknowns here ... US $'s? £'s? Euros? Where are you coming from & do you already have a bank account here? If 'NO' to bank account, you can not transfer it so you ,ight bring it with you in Travellers cheques (Checks to you Americans!!). If you have a Cheque BOOK you can write US $ cheques on, why not cash your cheque down here? Better still. why not just draw the money out from your account where you live as & when you need it? Do you have a debit card that works in ATM's?
If you need somewhere to cash a US $ cheque, give me a call when you get here & I'll introduce you to Apolinar's (RUSA's) in Doce de Julio where (if you are known) they will change it No Problemo!! £'s are MUCH more difficult to change & don't give as good a rate!! - Grahame.
