A View?
You mean you didn't wall in that annoying 10 foot high wall-to-wall front Window?
That would have been first on my list! Close that up! All you see anyway is a big mess of foamy, salty, fishy smelling water that actually touches the -ugh- East River on the other side, with a strip of dirty ground up crushed coral, shells, rocks, and ex-Presidente bottles in between the water and the house. Trust me, the ocean looks much better from way back here. You can't see the sun-burnt German's in their speedos.
Nah, I'd'a put some Windows on the street side. Maybe a nice porch there to watch traffic and the Dominican's going buy. Maybe wave at the Police acorss the street. You know, be neighborly! You Minnesotan's (That's pronounce Mihn-nah-SOHT-ehns for those of you who've never listened to Jesse Ventura) just don't know how to go native. I swear!

That is a good idea for our get together at Tom and Mary's house on the 16th. We can all tell them what we would have done differently if it were our house.

12 hours and off we go
I'm mostly posting this reply to keep this thread toward the top because I'm still hoping to hear from some of the other high profile and/or notorius posters, ie; Bushbaby, Johnny Honda, Eddy, etc. We got room and we got beer.

Directions to our PARTY!
The response has been good and everything is looking good for Saturday. To get to our house, go East from Cabarete untill you see the Zona Militar on the right. We are approximately 100 meters past that on the left. The house is the color of wet sand with a green awning over a white front door. We are across the street from a small dominican restaurant named Kikas. We are looking forward to meeting everyone, see you all then. Tom and Mary

Good grief, Mary and Tom, where have you been hiding? You have been off the radar screen for so long that those of us who have been trying to make contact with you thought you had been kidnapped by a gang that knew you were wealthy visitors from Minnesota.

Alive and well
Hey Ken,
we've been pretty busy between our visit to SD and then working on getting the house together. Looking forward to getting together with you and Dean and the girls tonight. See you soon.
To everybody else, if you get to SD and to the Colonial Zone, ya gotta look up Jan. Fabulous tour guide and resident wild child. She's a great time. Tom
PS We met Paul Thate this morning on the beach just after sunrise. Another cool DR1er that we got to meet.
See y'all soon

Work interferes in my Life!
Tom and Mary,
Apologies but Richard and I cannot be there tonight - and we really wanted to come. We had to run off to the Turks and Caicos Islands on short notice to attend to some customers here. Work interferes yet again! Xanadu, if you are planning to be there, you need to bring your own wine I'm not buying tonight....
