Default Departure Tax UK

Could anybody recently having returned to the UK from the DR please clarify if it is $10 or $20to leave PP Airport!.
I am due to travel in a fortnight and am led to believe there has been an increase? although Thomsons Travel my tour operator tell me as far as they are aware the cost is still $10 payable on exit of DR.
It seems unlike Canadian visitors to DR we in the UK do not have the option to have this exit tax paid for by tour operators so I just would like to finish my hols at the airport with the right amount of $/s ($10 or $20) in my pocket to leave the country.

TIA

Tony L

Talking It has no bearing where you are going

but where you are leaving from , e.g. the DR, and it is now $20 not $10. Charter flights often have this included, if not you pay at the check-in or the gate area. If you bought your ticket before the increase and it was prepaid you may have to ante up the $10 increase at check in, - AA is doing this, for example.

Hi Tony. Travelling with Thomsons you will definitely have to pay the departure tax at the airport, and yes, since the beginning of this month (I think) it went up to US$20. Enjoy your hols!
