Default Flamboyan tree

We love this tree and thought others might want to know more about it.

Also, can anyone point me in the direction of native DR flowers?

Thanks,

The flowers on that tree are very beautiful, they remind me a little of honeysuckle.

Can't help with any native flowers, but according to the Lonely Planet guidebook, the variety of Jacaranda which grows in DR isn't found anywhere else. They also report that of over 5,000 plant species documented in DR, more than a third of them appear on Hispaniola an nowhere else.

Default You might try this

See if this reaches Dr. Richard Lowden at PUCMM in Santiago
rlowden@pucmmsti.edu.do

He is the national resident expert on Dominican flora, and if he can, I am sure he would point you in the right direction.
