Default Hotetur Dorado Club

Going to be travelling to the DR in January...to the "newly" renovated Dorado Club.
We have been to the Riu Merengue, which was amazing...and this time we are bringing our children.
What should we expect from this resort...and what is the "Playa Dorado Complex"?

Default Some short answers

This is the Grand Dame of the North Shore hotel industry. The Playa Dorada Complex is a series of 13 or 14 hotels build around a fine Robert Trent Jones golf course, with the ocean within a handy little walk of a few hundred feet or a hotel-provided ride of a few minutes. Your place is one of the first hotels on the site. It is genteel. Our family experiences there have been positive. The food is plentiful, and breakfasts are great. We have always found the service to be wonderful for children.
However, that said, it is not the RIU, a much newer venue, but with a lesser quality beach, IMO.

I think you will like the place, it is a very good value.
