InexpensiveNonInclusive Lodging/La Romana/Punta Cana

I am looking for affordable lodging for two in a non-all inclusive in La Romana, Punta Cana area. Preferably near the beach.

Also wondering about Higuey and what that area is like since it is not right on the beach.

Any info appreciated and I did check the resort reviews but couldn't find anything noninclusive for a couple.

Anu Re, what is you definition of affordable? Provide more info on your needs. Then a match may be found.

Also, Higuey is not a tourist town. It is the local seat of government and business center. Regards, PJT

I found a place in sousa for about $40us a night. I was hoping i could find something around that price noninclusive in the la romana or punta cana area.

Now I want to emphasize that I know NOTHING about this place other than what it says on their site. I also notice that the entire complex is up for sale on the same site. I would proceed with extreme caution.
