Cool first visit 1st 2 weeks in feb

We are visting for the first time in Feb for 2 weeks I have a few questions that I hope you guys can help me with.
We are staying at the Fun tropicale in playa dorada, I understand that there is a golf course near by, how much does it cost to play?
can anyone play or do you need to be good?
Is it worth taking golf clubs from home UK or are we better of hiring in dr?
Also what temperature is thw water in Feb.

I have been browsing this site all afternoon, it's great, everyone seems friendly.

Could you also give me good tours to go on, we would rather do it independently rather than trough the reps also a rough idea of the cost
thanks robbo1

Default Golf and stuff

I don't have the latest fees but if you see BushBaby posting, ask him. He has the latest fees. It is not expensive.
If you can bring your own clubs, you will enjoy the golf a lot more.
You should make plans to go to Playa Grande as well. You can use local transport or bribe BushBaby to go with you in his 1959
4x4 Montero by Mitsubishi!!
If you are duffers, you will be expected to take caddies or some lessons first, since course maintenance is expensive and your cutting up the fairways and greens will not be appreciated.
However, if you know your way around a golf course, you will be treated royally and much appreciated.
Playa Grande is not for duffers!! I'd shoot you myself if I saw you taking two divots with your practice swings and then a third as you sculled it across the fairway!

The water is always wonderful, do not even think about that.
Bring very good sun screen (at least 30+) and insect repellant with DEET for the mornings and evenings, and for the golf course if you are going to play in shorts. New meat is much appreciated by the local insects....

If you have never been in the tropics, you are in for a treat. But be wise and be careful of the sun. It can ruin a great holiday. You are thousands of miles closer to the sun here than in the UK!!
Beet red might be funny looking but it HURTS!! And it scars! And it caused wrinkles!

Otherwise, you will have a blast.
