DR1 called Migration and the fee for 2-/2 years is RD$500, the max is RD$850.

I personally know many people that have overstayed and never ever had a problem paying. I did it myself many times before I had my Cedula.

You do not need to pay the immigration officer directly, if you do, then he/she is looking for a bribe. They will or should send you to the "tax office" to pay the fine and then come back to the line to pass through immigration.

If you have time and are in Santo Domingo, you can also pay the fine at the Migration Department that is located on the Malecón in the Centro de los Heroes, next door to the Post Office (INPOSDOM) and the Agua y Luz Theater.
