Default Highway 23-SD to Cotui?

Anyone know how this road is? I would like to see the back country, and it looks like it might be a nice route to take.

That road is probably not fully completed I have taken part of that road and it isnt the best. Why not take the main HWY to either Pierda blanca and then take 17 into Cotui (hope you have a jeep) or take the main hwy to ext for Sanfrancisco de macoris then follow signs thru to Fantino then onto Cotui the roads are nice that way!!! Either way let me know how it goes

I'm not sure which one is 23-SD as we don't know the roads by those names in the DR, but if you're referring to the road that goes through Maimon then it should be OK. It's in decent shape. Just watch out for potholes as there are a few. I wouldn't drive it at night if you're not familiar with it. If you have time, visit the Dam in cotui. The largest man made lake in the caribbean.

I've driven the road through Maimon many times. I would not even think of doing it a night though. The road is a winding one and being one lane in each direction can be crazy. Getting stuck behind a slow moving gua gua, tractor or horse drawn cart etc.

The lake is nice. Not much to do in Cotui though.

Default Route 23

Thanks everyone....I guess I'll see how things are, and how adventurous a mood I'm in.

Thanks again,

Wilson
