Default Need transfers from the Airport to Occidental Allegro

Can someone please tell me how I can get transfers from the airport in Punta Cana to Occidental Allegro. What will it cost me? I beleive the hotel is about 30 minutes from the airport. I would like to do this the most reasonable way. Thanks.

Default Transfer

The resort does not provide transfer service from Punta Cana airport. There is taxi service at the airport. The Allegro resort is in Cabeza De Toro, about 9 - 10 miles from the airport, 15 min. The taxi tariff should be around 400-500 Pesos and no more. Be sure to negotiate the rate before hiring a cab. If I find out the rate mentioned is different I will post it. Regards, PJT

The taxi will be more than glad to take American Dollars. The exchange is around 34 Pesos to the Dollar right now, subject to immediate change. The taxi rate will be about $US15 for 500 Pesos. However, a word to the wise, expect the operators to be asking $US25 - $US50. Regards, PJT

P.S. made two calls about rates. Beron Taxi (809) 552-1013, a local taxi, located at the Beron Crossroads, more or less halfway distance between the resort and the airport quotes a tariff of 300 Pesos. Siutratural, the tourist taxi sindicate, (809) 221-2741, has taxis stationed at the airport, their rate is $US22 or 616 pesos (1/28 exchange rate) for up to 5 persons. It is your choice.
