Default Buying cigars

I am travelling to the DR in about a week or so. I have heard from many people that the DR has excellent cigars. I have also heard that there are many low quality fakes out there.

Now, I am a very rookie cigar smoker and have a few friends who would like me to bring back some nice cigars. Can anyone help me in determining a good cigar that I can get in the DR and how to ensure it's authenticity.

Thanks, CanadianZ

Where are you going is the first question, the island is big and there are good places to buy cigars.

I am staying with him and some others, we are all staying in Playa Dorada. Does it make a difference? Is there different types of cigars depending on the area? If so, which area produces the better ones?

Cheers.

Thumbs up

Speak or look for "Hillbilly" that posts on this message board. He is the resident expert and has his own cigar manufacturing operation here.

Default agree

Robert, I agree and now that we know they are in the POP area, HB is the source to talk to, they could even talk to tim Hall at Cafe Cito.
I thought if they were in the PC area I could help them with Domenico,

Find a post done by Hillbilly and email or pm him.
