Default Road conditions

The highways to Mao are fine. The road up to Villa Elisa is great, but the 22 km in to the beach are unpaved but leveled. Easily accesible by car or SUV....Besides when you get to the beach it is all worth it..

And I can second the other suggestions of Sosua and Camp David

Yes the view from Camp David is incredible. I shot some video up there but can't remember if I got a sunset or not. I just might have to go back etc!

Default Camp David??

Camp David is a former Trujillo retreat located high above Santiago. Excellent food and nice rooms - somewhat isolated. Don't know how it got it's name though. Hillbilly will probably be able to tell us.

I once took some awsome sunset pics from behind the Acuario Nacional in the capital. There's nice large patio in the back that has a rail on the small cliffs. The view of the sun setting over the caribbean and the capital was quite stunning. Unfortunately back then I didn't have a digital camera, so can't post them here.

The company you're with makes all the difference, though....
