Cool money changing

I am coming to DR in Feb, would I be better changing english pounds into pesos or american dollars?
And where will I get the best rates in England or the DR?
we'll be staying in the tropicale and we would love to meet some of you guys, you'll recognise us we'll all be very white! not for long though my sister in law will be in a wheelchair just come up and say hello.
Also does it get cold in the evenings?
thanks Robbo

Hi Rob, take US cash and travellers cheques, the exchange rate is the best it's been in a long time and I don't think you will get pesos here in England anyway. Don't change them at the hotel, they will rip you off. Is the Tropicale the Fun Tropicale at Playa Dorada? If so, you can go to the plaza and change them at the bank there, they will give you a much better rate. Alternatively, if you are out and about use the cambios in Puerto Plata, Sosua, Cabarete, or wherever you are.

You won't be cold in the evenings, trust me - I'm English so I know
