I've had people make the same statement, but in a blind test they weren't able to tell the difference. The beer taste better in the DR because you are in the DR. It's the locale, not the beer.

You are wrong. I am not a big beer drinker. I only like Presidenete when I'm in the DR. and I like Corona (which to me tastes the same in Mexico or any other country). So I don't think your theory applies. I just bought three case of Presidente when I was in MD a few weeks ago, myself and my girlfriend drank a few and we both agree they suck. (the US version that is).

You want to buy the remaining 32 bottles???????????????

Next time you go to the DR, bring back some Presidentes and try the blind taste test. I'd like to hear how you do.

Presidente beer in the D.R. has a higher alcohol content than the beer imported to the U.S. I believe this is why the D.R.beer tastes better than the imported version.

Same here. I've been wondering why (here in Maryland) it should taste so crummy. It just does not have the same great taste and aroma that I'm used to in my all-time favorite beer. Why is that? Is it because of Import requirements set by the FDA? Does anyone know?....One thing's for sure, until they make it taste DR- brewed I'm not spending $25 a case for crappy beer. I'll drink Milwaukee's Best which is even crappier but a lot cheaper!

I agree it does not taste the same, but I've always heard that it is exactly the same beer...so why is this? I believe it must be the location, environment, etc...
I paid 6 USD for a small one at the Hilton in NYC, just because I saw that they had some in stock. I think one big reason is the way they serve it here which is normally not as cold as in The DR. I say try it really cold (Vestida de novia), while listening to some Dominican music really loud and see if it tastes any different...

Not only does it taste different, but swish the bottle around a you will see a large foam head which does not happen in the DR. I bought three cases in Maryland (Arnold - AA county).

I have also had it in St. Martin last year and it was the same crappy US version.

Ha Ha Ha, if you can't see the trade mark on the label of Presedente, then its not from the Dominican. Oh yea, if you don't know where to find it, then you are drinking a knock off......just like t-shirts......he heh heh
