Default How dangerous is a strike really?

So there were about 8 deaths and some injuries during the strike, does anybody have statistics on how many die in a normal 48 hour period during the week from traffic accidents, drunk driving, police shootings etc?

Last I checked Amnesty International claims the Dominican police gun down an average of 200 people in the street every year anyway, so one or two were going to get it anyway. Add traffic accidents that could have happenned if anyone was out driving and we may find the strike was the safest 2 days to be on the road in Dominican History.

Also with all fo the police on the streets patrolling like they are supposed to there were certainly less robberies, so crime was down as well.
