In 1982, one of the most interesting and monumental events in wrestling took place and it seems a good 99% of us have never seen it. During that year in the Dominican Republic local wrestling legend Jack Veneno headlined a wrestling card against Ric Flair for the NWA World title. Veneno actually won the match but was never recognized as an NWA World champion even though footage of the event exists! How is it that a video of that event (or even just the match) has never made it's way to the U.S. I do not know. From every report I have ever heard, the Veneno/Flair encounter was a four-star match and the crowd was hotter than that of the Mad House of Extreme. I was watching wrestling with my little brother a couple of weeks ago and he said that the greatest wrestler of all time was Stone Cold Steve Austin. When I told him that in reality the greatest wrestler of all time was Jack Veneno he replied, "Jack Veneno? Who's that?" Since that conversation I have been on a mission to get footage to try to educate him in a small way on wrestling but in a larger to his culture as a whole. If anyone out there has fotage of the entire event where he fought Ric Flair and won(or even the match, or tapes of him wrestling period) please contact me at:
