I would suggest that you find somewhere else other than Eddys as you are obviously desperate to watch the 'beautiful game" (not to be confused with American "football" where a bunch of pumped up, protected, cissies run about 10 seconds at a time they should try doing that for 90 minutes!!). We have been to Eddys more than once over the last couple of months and its either been closed or just showing German football, when we have asked about the English games we are just met with a shrug of shoulders!.
That, I believe is a slur.

We still go to Eddys and tell other people to go
There, you're just contridicting everything you've already said. You're on this board, telling people to find someplace else on 2 different occasions. Are you telling people to go, or not to go? Perhaps you should make up your mind.

so its a shame that I'm not allowed to voice my views.
Of course you're allowed to voice your views...but why would you bother if your sole purpose is damaging, when you yourself didn't do anything to correct the problem first. Shame on you that you couldn't just talk to him, but felt it right to post it on a message board.

BTW, what a better way of letting the owner know than by posting it here, huh?

The only thing I ever got from any of the Angels was a smile and very good service. In addition they are more than happy to join in a game of pool if it is not too busy.

P.S. Most speak English very well. Only one I know has difficulty - I just cannot understand why people from a foreign country expect everyone to speak their Language.

P.S. Eddy - I sent an E-MAILO to confirm my reservation. I also sent a PM but have not heard back.

I don't wish any bad to happen to anyones business, i personally have never even been to Eddy's bar (i will be going next month though).

This thread is asking the question - is Eddy's bar any good? It's not saying 'only post here if you think eddy's bar is good'.

If there is a post saying 'Casa Marina Reef - Good or bad?' are we only allowed to post good comments and any complaints should only mentioned to the management? How will people ever find out about a place properly if aren't allowed to post your experiences (some have to be taken with a pinch of salt - obviously)

Like i said - i have never been but i will be going to watch England let us down again in Euro 2004, some comments will be negative and some will be positive, but nearly all posts i have seen recommend Eddy's and thats why i will be there, propping up the bar, cheering!

Very valid points. Having worked in the bartending business for years, I know the value of good service and what it can do to help or hinder your business. I think anyone who will badmouth a business without speaking to the manager first to try and correct the problem quite likely is the same type of person who initiates bad service to come their way. All I'm saying is no one has the right to badmouth businesses if they haven't first talked to the manager, and that applies in all walks of life. This is no way for the manager/owner to find out.

I have been to Eddy's Bar on a number of occasions and loved it. Mostly because of the Angels but also just had a great time there. However that being said to attack someone for expressing their view and opinion of THEIR experience is wrong. That is why there are boards like this after all. Eddy should not be protected because he is a nice guy and is a member here?? One person can have a bad experience and another a good one and all should be posted as they see fit. Besides Fatima could have been having a bad day and didnt feel like getting up too quick and getting the beer and changing the channel

OK OK - I was in Sosua for 3 weeks just got back to Mtl. tonight. During my stay, did make a few changes in the staff. I would have prefered that people that have complaints tell me rather than "Bitch" to the world. That doesn't solve a bloody thing. The man in the hammock says he was unsatisfied with the service. Maybe he did or mabe he deserved the service he got. I don't know because obviously I wasn't there. Lets not get riled up over someone who has obviously just got into town. If i complained every time I wasn't satisfied at least one time, I could put the every bar and restaurant in Sosua or anywhere else in the DR. on the list. Obviously Sunny has very little experience in this country. Let's not start a war over 1 complaint. Hey It's the first one in nearly 20 years. I was beginning to think I was a God. Thanks Sunny for showing me I'm a mortal. It's difficult to find and keep good staff. Should be back in the DR. in a couple of months. In the mean time complain to my wife. If you're right someone gets the axe if you're wrong, YOU get it. Cheerio.

We popped into Eddy's when we were there last December. It was mid to late afternoon, so things were pretty quiet (okay, the four of us were the only ones there). I guess anyone with any sense was resting up for the evening's festivities.

Whoever was concerned about there not being enough Presidente should not worry. There were cases upon cases stacked everywhere, and I think they also made a delivery while we were there LOL.

We were treated graciously by the young lady who served us and when I asked her if she was one of Eddy's Angels, she treated us to a lovely smile and a nod of confirmation.

I think that the point that some people are trying to make about the "bad review" or whatever one would call it, is that because Sunnyhammock has been to Eddy's repeatedly, she could have brought it up to him and given him a chance to address the problem. To air such "dirty laundry" here is potentially damaging to his business, especially when she has had the opportunity to take it up with him, but has chosen not to.

We had a particularly bad/frightening experience at a bar in Cabarete last December. A fight broke out between two employees (broken glass and the machismo thing). We could especially tell that this was not "normal" because we were chatting with a local whose eyes were as big a saucers at this. He said, "this kind of thing just doesn't happen here." The owner of the bar made it up to us by covering not only our drinks after the incident but from before. That is why I will not say which bar it was, because the owner made it up to us, despite the fact that the incident was not under his control.

An owner of an establishment has to know that there is a problem before they can address it.

LOL, Man Alive................does anyone understand the post?

There is no concern about whether or not a bar in the DR will be properly stocked with the national beer - Presidente.

I will break it down.............I am going to the DR, football is on, its a massive week for England, i like beer, i intend to drink a lot and have a great vacation, my friend drinks even more than i do, 'another 2 presidente's over here good lady', 'you aren't going to run out are you?' (Let the reader add their own joking, light heartened tone to the aforementioned question!)

Can't wait to be there! 25 more days or so now!
