Isla Catalina Snorkel from Breezes Punta Cana

I'm looking for good snorkeling for myself and 9 year old grandson who can't wait!!!

Is this a good choice. Best way to get there? Excursion, taxi or rent a car?
Is it worth the trip. Good excursions in Punta???

and, any other excursion info greatly appreciated.

Also-How is resort. 1st time to Dominican. Last 3 years to Playa del Carmen. Stayed at Ibesrostar Paraiso and Barcelo Maya. Loved both. Seems like allot more action here. Good for our teens, and grandson maybe not for mom and dad???
