Default Reasonable shopping in Punta Cana?

Can anyone suggest a place around Secrets Excellence for good local shopping? The wife and I like to return with a bit of the culture we visited and usually smaller towns/villages are best for that. Can you recommend something unique to the area that we should look for?

Default Hi wlepse.

Greetings from Atlantic Canada.

I'm afraid the best you can get in that area is any of the beach vendors who either set up off the property or may be permitted to visit the resort one or two nights while you are there.

This area is quite remote and there really are no towns or villages. There are a few tourist strip malls and plazas but they are not too near Secrets (which is almost the most remote resort in Punta Cana).

Good luck.

Gregg

Closest would probably be the gift shops in the Riu hotels arcade. But that should be about 20 minutes or so drive from your hotel. Secrets is quite out of the way. Probably you should consider taking one day to go traveling all the way to La Romana and back. There you can go shopping in the Altos de Chavon village, in the plush La Marina of Casa de Campo, or the town of La Romana (for bargain seekers). It's about a two hour drive each way, so you should start out early to be back before night time.
