Default Beaches and Tourist in Monte Cristi

Hello
Can somebody tell me a little about the beach near Monte Cristi, is there some fun at day or at night time or is it quiet?
Are there hotels, how are they and how is the diving there?
Is the town beautifull ?
Thanks
Gerardo

Monte Cristi is a very small, quiet town. I was not really impressed with the beach just outside of town. Samll and kind of dirty. Not to mention the salinas. They go right up to the edgeof the water. From what I hear, the beach on the east side of "El Morro" is small but quiet and nice. Not very active. And not touristy at all. Mostly locals.
There is a decent hotel in town. Somebody else can halp you with the name. I can't remember.
I don't dive. But all the foreigners I ever met there were there for that. I met a team once that was searching for one of Napoleons ships that sunk there. I guess they had found a cannon or anchor. I nevr heard if they found the ship.
It's a great little town. But not very lively.
