Jeep vs. Car

Hey Guys,
I am planning a trip to Santiago in October and I will be travelling to Juan Dolio during my stay. Is it better to rent a Jeep for the drive from Santiago to Juan Dolio or is a car suffice? Not familiar with the road conditions from Sti to Sdq.

The roads are okay, no need for a jeep.

I agree that roads are relatively ok.. but if you have a car make sure you drive during the day to avoid potholes.. if you plan sidestrips consider a jeep

After having some experiance in traffic here I can only come to one conclusion. The bigger the better!

Its not always about the condition of the road as well as the lunatics that are on it!
If the price between renting a car or a jeep isnt to much of a difference then just go for the jeep. I will not go as far as many here on the board to say that you shoudnt drive, I drive myself every day, but do not save money on your safety.
