scuba diving

hello.
this is my first post, having just found the site.
I am off to PP in september and would like to know if there are any diving schools in the area, and if they are reputable
Also, is it advisible to rent a car/bike ? or are the roads a bit wild for that kind of thing.
AND it is safe to go into town isnt it ?, ive travelled around europe quite a lot but never been to the carribean before, the travel people reckon its a bit dangerous but i think they are just saying that so i dont leave the resort !
Any info on the diving would be appreciated.

The best dive center in the area is Northern Coast Diving center, http://www.northerncoastdiving.com/ and driving is a bit crazy around here, so renting a bike is only a good idea if you are a true biker.
Going out is quite safe, as long as you don't set yourself up to be a target, anymore than you would in your own home town or anywhere else you travel to.
