I will never forget this - when I arrived for my trip last November and was walking towards them, they stopped their merengue and started a rendition of "princesa". It was brilliant - I was quite moved and these days it is pretty hard for Dominican males to achieve that!!!!

I was in the DR for 2 weeks in April '08. Here are some more photos. Many more to come. I should be blogging more now that the renovations to my basement are finally done. Thanks for all the great responses.
