High Prices and No Availability

I thought May/June was the beginning of low season? I've been trying to book the Paraiso del sol/ Camino del sol (same hotel) a couple of kilometers away from Cabarete for May 20'th. or May 27'th. There's nothing available May 20'th.....and limited space for the 27'th. I can't understand why because the place really isn't all THAT nice.lol.

But, the prices are still pretty high! The tour companies want as much (or more) as they were selling for during a cold Canadian winter. Maybe someone can drive by....and see if they're really full.haha.

Seriously,...anyone know why the rates at some of the AI's are staying up in price?

It might be because May 22nd is Victoria Day in Canada and May 29th is Memorial Day in the US. Both are heavy travel periods.
