Electricity issues???

How often does the electricity go out in Puerto Plata?
It seems like quite abit....does it go off for a whole day or night?

Most resorts have their own power sources and interruptions are limited, off the resort Ede Norte runs the power grid and it is off and on.

In Puerto Plata lately, we have 2-3 interuptions/day. Usually they range from 5 minutes to 1/2 hour.

In the barrio Javilliar, adjacent to Costambar, there was a "welga" (sp?) 2 days ago, complete with burning tires on the road because they had no power for a week or so..... perhaps somebody didn't pay??? Canadian Bob.
