Bachelor Pary Advice
Hi, I'm the best man planning a bachelor party and the DR is place I'm highly considering and trying to push. It has been a LONG time since I've been there, actually it was with my parents 20 years ago in Peurto Plata.
With that said, I need some reccommendations. Right now, I'm thinking Boca Chica, but would like to hear some feedback. This is a bachelor party crew, so stuff some people may find degrading, many in this crew will not. However, if the area is completely filthy, this will be a turn-off. From what I see, Boca looks like it'll have something for everyone: a casino nearby, nightlife, partying on the beach, girls, stripclubs, please let me know if I'm on the right page. I don't think the groom-to-be will be interesting in being "Serviced" by some of the local "entertainers", but I'm sure some in this crew will. I know he will at least want to go to a stripclub. The groom's main request is that we go to a beach, if we can pull off renting a house or villa, even better, but not necessary; being able to rent dirtbikes or motorcycles would be a plus. Please let me know if I'm on the right track or should be focusing on more of the inclusive resorts like Punta cana, or some other area; I remember Puerta Plata being very family-like.
We're all American, in our late 20's to early 30's. All feedback appreciated. Oh, not sure if this matters, none of us speak Spanish fluently (that I know of).

- You must absolutely avoid the All-Inclusive resorts anywhere. None are guest friendly
- Depending on the number in your party, a villa rental probably is not realistic. Most owners would shy away from a bunch of partying young men without a hefty breakage deposit.
- Sosua, on the North Coast, has many small hotels and all the activities you mentioned.

Thank You
As for inclusive resorts, thank you, that's kind of what I thought, but I wanted to confirm. I definitely see your point regarding the villas. I need to find out exactly how many we will be. I guess we're still considered young men, but we're not kids anymore, trashing someone's house is not what we're about it.
So you would reccommend Sousa over Boca? Why?
Thanks again.

As far as I know there are no strip clubs in Boca Chica. There may be one about 15-20 minutes away (Jazzy's) if it is still open.

I'm loving the feedback. I thought Sousa would be more "family" like because it's close to Peurto Plata. I see a lot of you having me steer clear of Boca, I'm assuming I'm getting strictly guy advice here. It's funny, there's a lovely young Domincan woman I work with, she was kind of pushing Boca which I find kind of, well, interesting, if, from what I'm understanding, may not be totally ideal for a party... No one has been direct, but I'm reading all your advice is that Boca is just over run with prostitutes and not much else, if I'm reading this wrong please let me know...

Go to Sosua (outside of Puerto Plata!) There are plenty of women there and the area is more tourist friendly (particularly for Americans) than Boca Chica. Fly into POP, rent a couple of cars from Alamo, and stay at the 2 and 3-bedroom villas (with private pool) in the Casa Linda community, which is just outside of Sosua ($100-$150 a night per/villa.) There are discos in Sosua, restaurants in Cabarete (very near), strip clubs in Puerto Plata (Ana Miriams, aka Franks) and there is a casino/resort at Playa Dorado (again very near.)

Only drawbacks with staying at Casa Linda are that: - Not on the beach or within walking of bars or restaurants.
- Not in town, driving back and forth dangerous at night when sober, treacherous when not.
- My recommendation would be condo rental in town, from Rocky for example, or the Waterfront Hotel.

I agree. Particularly, if you're not interested in throwing private pool parties without being hassled by anyone!!
