Don't worry, it is an easy mistake to make...
School supplies. I will send you a private message on how to handle that.
Yes there is a hair salon. My suggestion is this: go to a hairdresser at home that you know and knows your hair. Practice the way you want your hair done and have several pictures taken from various angles. Bring them with you and give them to the sylist. That way you limit surprises!

Hi
My family and I are going to HV in February. The pictures look great and we are so excited! Just wondering where we should be looking for reviews from the people visiting this resort over the next couple of weeks?
Thanks for the help!

Hi Planner,
Many, many thanks for the ever increasing info and photos, its a shame you don't work for First Choice as they still don't have this much info on their website!! Will keep reading for answers to all the other qustions e.g. family rooms, facilities in rooms, if all adults can use adult only area Etc. I also noticed one of the pictures of stated that topless bathing was allowed in the adult area does that mean that it is not allowed in any of the other pool areas? Keep up the good work. Once again many, many thanks.

That is the way it is in most hotels here but often not enforced! Topless bathing is allowed at the adult pool but no where else. As I understand it there is also an adult only section on the beach. It is quite common to see women topless at the beach. As this resort is very much family oriented I will assume they will enforce their topless area restrictions but time will tell.
This is a catholic country fundamentally. You will rarely see a woman from this country going topless in public. To me, it is a sign of respect for the country you are visiting to take this into consideration. So, stick to the designated areas.
As a side note there is nowhere public to sunbathe completely nude. That question gets asked a lot as well.

Hello Planner, I have been reading your posts and viewing your pictures with great interest. We are still undecided in our choice of holiday destinations this year, but the Holliday Villiage has certanly caught our attention. The facilities for children and teens look impressive. We did try to book into a family room for 2 weeks in March but found out that they were all sold out of the family rooms. I was wondering if they have any other classes of rooms, superior, suite etc, besides the standard room. We are a merged family, each with one child and they do not like to share beds, which is why the family room was so perfect with the bunk beds. I don't know if they have roll away beds available or if they would fit in a standard room, which is why I am asking if they have larger rooms or suites.
I was also wondering what the menus might be like for kids and teenagers. Our kids are not too adventurous when it comes to food. Breaksfasts are never a problem, but lunch and especially suppers can be disappointing for them if there is nothing they recognize. Do you know if they offer things like hot dogs, hamburgers, Nachos with cheese, spaghetti, french fries etc?
One last question for you, I see the resort is surrounded by a golf course. do you know what the green fees would be for 18 holes, or if they have a golf package?
Thank you so much for all of your insightful information.

Does anyone have an email address for the hotel? We are stopping for a week at the end of February for our honeymoon and would like to arrange a bottle of champagne on arrival
Thanks

Another question for everyone. We're staying at HV in February and are planning on going to ocean world. Should we be booking the dolphin/sea lion encounters ahead of time or will there still be spots open if we book when we arrive? We are only staying for 1 week. Thanks for the help!

Once I go back I will see what I can find out for you. Most resorts have roll aways available. Check the website for additional information.

Yes they have hot dogs, pasta, nachos, spaghetti and basic foods. the variety will vary from meal to meal, so there is some choice each night.

I have heard of no golf package yet. THe golf course charges $75 US this winter for 18 holes and $20 for the cart. Their website is
Playa Dorada Golf Club
Thank you so much for all of your insightful information.

You are very welcome....
Eurostar - book that via your travel agent ahead of time.
Tavia - when you are only coming for one week it is wise to book ahead for the dolphin encounter, it can get booked up. Book it for fairly early in your trip in case you get bad weather and need to reschedule.
