Dear Planner:I guess you are a dear, i thought you were guy as well.Sorry. Did you get a chance to read my message from dec 4? I know you are very busy and thanks. Question about school supplies. Does Midway(canadian bar) in Sosua still take donations for kids and is It best to contact Mario Mattana at Fun Royal (Fundacion Patria) to give supplies. Thanks again.

Sorry I missed yours coldcanuck......LOL Must be that word COLD that I kind of just skim right over....

Don't know about Midway Bar in Sosua, but that is a ways away unless you are going there anyway.

Yes Mario will take the supplies. I also will come and pick them up either for him, the Beyond the Beach Foundation or for local schools. Your choice.... Just PM me if you like.

I'm not familiar with Midway but Checkpoint in Sosua (Colleen and Mark) will gladly take your donations for DREAM, Mustard Seed or Sosua KIds.

Hi Peterbridge

Do it when you get there. Every hotel and tour operator for miles around organises trips to Ocean World!

You'll have a great day out!

Good luck

Yes Ocean World can be booked directly through your holiday Rep. However, they do fill up. Depending on when you are coming, it is better to book in advance, specifically the dolphin swim!

Here is their website:

Ocean World in the Dominican Republic | Dolphins Sealions Sharks Stingrays Tigers Tropical Birds Rainforests Snorkeling | Cofresi Beach,

The night tour is a fabulous buffet dinner, sea lion and dolphin shows, good dance show and casino. I enjoyed the entire evening.

Hi

Does anyone know if there will be a Gala Dinner on Xmas Day and New Years Eve?

Last year some friends arrived at their hotel and were told they needed to dress appropriately for a gala dinner! All the ladies were in ball gowns and men were dressed in tuxedos etc!!!!

Just need to know what I need to pack! I don't usually take a jacket and tie on holiday so need some advance warning!!!

Hope someone may be able to help or find out!

Thanks again

Long pants (not Jeans) and a shirt will be fine. No jacket is required. The Christmas and New Year's party are at the Buffet Restaurant.

Hello Planner.Should i call myself Hotcanuck instead? Just kidding.I will be taking my daughter on outback tour. Some tours will take you to a school, would it be appropriate to give supplies during visit to school? I really would like my daughter to see the joy in there faces. And Fireguy you are absolutely right. I have the bad habit of calling Checkpoint "Midway". The couple that run the bar are great people. PS: Bring a jar of Miracle Whip for him and you will likely get a free beer.

Darlene,

I seriously think you should either email this entire thread to Holiday Village or print it off and take it to them.
They could set up a FAQ on their website and people could get the answers from there.

I am exhausted just reading all your answers to all of the questions! You have done an outstanding job for someone who isn't even employed by this resort!!

I sure do hope that these posters appreciate it and make arrangements to meet up with you while they are there. That way they can show their appreciation by bringing you ... let's see ....hmmm .... ah yes .... CHOCOLATE!!!!!!!!! lol

You are a gem of a person to spend all this time helping others out, and all the running back and forth from the resort and picture taking, is above and beyond what some should expect.

Again, I think HV should at least give you a free dinner or something for doing all their work for them!!!

Marlie
