HI Gregg, let me clarify:

When I said extensive renovations - I meant the whole place! That is what is going on at Holiday Village Resort. New pools, new restaurants, gutted and redone rooms......... it is quite something.

In Cofresi: Lifestyles Hacienda is renovating but in sections. They have redone many of the rooms in Tropicale and are redoing Crowne Residence. Everything is being brought up to RCI Gold Crown Standards.

Sun Village is adding on 120 rooms/suites. They are building not renovating.

I was at the site yesterday and snuck a few photos of the new wave pool.

In my opinion - ** please note I am not a builder, I am not an engineer, simply looking at things from the outside ** - I do not know how they can be ready by December 1 of this year. I can see they will complete by Dec 20 for the start of high season!

Maybe they will open sections of the hotel but the part I got to see is not finished. The pool is partly done, maybe the rest will be quick and easy - I don't know. But it appears to be behind. If your holiday is booked after Dec 20th then I would not be concerned at all.

IF your holiday is booked before that - if it was me - I would call the tour operator or travel agent you booked through and ask lots of questions.

Thank you for the updates it is greatly appreciated as i am getting married there in april and am really excited. Guess i am ok cos renovations wil definitely be compleate by the time i get there.

Great photos and really appreciate you keeping us all informed . We are planning to get wed there March 2008 so we don't have any worries about it being finished!!!! But its good to see what we will be booking as the brochures only have the old photos.
