New photos
I got some shots for you. I am posting 3 similar to the first 3 I posted. You can see the progress around the wave pool. Other then water it is ready to go. The plants etc will take some time to fill in but it looks really good.
I have some shots of the buildings but it doesn't really help. They have gutted the builidings and redone the insides but I could not get you photos of that.
IF I get more I will post them for you.

Hi Planner
Have been following progress of holiday village and thanks you have been so helpful with all your visits and photos. We are aparty of 8 due to arrive on 16th dec,and have been keeping our fingers crossed that the resort will be open, having changed our booking from riu merengue as after research was fairly worried about the recurring illness that seems to keep happening at riu hotels,do you think that the whole resort will be up and running or should we expect some of it to still be in the process of renovation. don't mind abit of painting or gardening being done but do hope no drilling etc.I will await your reply
Thanks

I am pretty sure you can stop worrying! IT looks to me that they are on schedule and will be ready when you arrive. I have a meeting there later today and I will let you all know what I find out. Trace1 I will send you a PM as well.

Holiday Village
Hi Planner,
I have been reading all the posts, and I want to say "Thank You" for posting these pics. My family of 4 - 2 adults and 2 teen boys are going down with my two sisters and their families. We will be arriving on Thurs. Dec 7 for a week. I will be thrilled if the majority of the work is done, rooms, pools, restaurants, etc. and have most of the bugs out be the time we get there. Do you know by chance if most of the staff are returning?
Your help is very much appreciated.
Cheers,
Connie

Connie I think most things will be ready (if not all) by the time you arrive. As for staff, most likely the better staff found jobs elsewhere. There is no unemployment insurance here if you get "laid off", (that term really doesn't exist here) former employees would not have been kept on the payroll and would have had to seek other opportunities to pay their bills.
You will have to see for yourself who is back when you get here. Do to heavy rains today I didn't get any more photos. But the rains have stopped.....

I am sure the hotel will be accomodating with a birthday cake! Just give them a couple of days notice if you can.
Ocean World now has both their day programs and their night program at the casino. The day programs - see your tour representative when you arrive and book your day at ocean world. The basic is entry, lunch buffet, snorkelling, the dolphin & sea lion shows, tiger grotto and the bird aviary. They also have a private beach. An encounter or swim with the dolphins, sea lions or sharks is an additional fee and they do go quickly so book early.
The night program has just opened and included a superb buffet dinner (lobster & prime rib) dolphin and sea lion shows, vegas style show and casino. IT is well worth it but is limited age wise.
Hope that helps.

Don't worry, I spoke with the food and beverage people there, when you arrive speak to the front desk and they will make the arrangements for you. IT is not a big deal for them. They have bakers in every day at the resort and only need one day notice.
