Although I appricate you took the time to get set up on the site, you should really think about trying to take all the bad stuff, and add a little good stuff for good measure.

I am sure you enjoyed something from your holiday?

How about a little something nice?

Take it or leave it. I can only tell you what I experienced and when thinking about all the bad stuff it is hard to think about positive things. Positive a few of the staff were good except the front desk staff, beach was good except the staff who looked after the water equipment took two days off. Main pool was fine except when almost every afternoon the Signature people had three simultaneously kid activities going on so no one else could use the pool. The quality of the food over all was poor and it was too difficult to get into the a la carte restaurants and when we got in it was not special at all. Matter of fact we went to the Mexican restaruant one night and we were given nacho chips with everything but selsa and we asked and because during the day it is a pizza joint we got pizza sauce to dip our nachos in. A joke and I guess you can say growing pains but still unacceptable. I could go on and on.
As far as the flies are concerned. The DR is full of insects and when you do not have a closed environment the flies will get in. The doors are not automatic and are always left open so they can easily access the buffet. Unacceptable. Take it or leave it. You and others will probably continue to peck at me and maybe I should not have tried to provide info that I wish someone had provided me. My only intent is to give you fair warning.

I was not trying to that. Sorry if you got that impression.

I just wanted to hear some positives as well. Afterall, it was your vacation. You had to enjoyed something.

BTW - I mis-read your flies thing. Yes I could see that flies would be inside the buffet restarant. I guess you just have to life with the fact that it is the tropics and for the most part it would be unnessary (sp?) to have doors.

With this thread having been viewed approximately 47,000 times, I can't believe the management of Holiday Village Resort has not come forward with a public statement to address this situation. Do they think ignoring the consumer will make the problems go away? If the allegations are false, deny them. If they are true, state what you are doing to correct them. But the silence of the management is deafening. and creating a public relations nightmare from which they may never recover.
I have sent this thread to the hotel management (even though I can't believe they aren't already aware of it), it is their turn to step up and respond.
