Default Road Question Santiago-Sosua

Is the back road from Santiago to Sosua open. I thought I read that rain had washed some of it out a while back. I'll be arriving Sunday and prefer this route. Thanks.

I was on the road this past Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Very passable, and of course less time than Route 5.

Default A nice drive

It is a beautiful drive. Not to be missed. Tranquil, most of the time, especially if you are not in a big hurry to get somewhere. Some nice photo op spots overlooking the sea and an inland valley....

Stop in Yásica and buy some white cheese. Good stuff....

Stop at the coffee farm at the top of La Cumbre and visit one of Trujillo's old houses.

Stop at La Humeadora for some deep fat fried batata and salt pork--great for the colesterol count....

You come into Santiago from the east. At the light by Haché:
Straight goes right into town
Left goes to Gran Almirante Hotel & Casino, El NAcional Supermercado, PriceSmart, as well as PUCMM and UTESA
Right goes to Ochoa Motors and other car dealers and the area of Los Salados, Los Reyes, Jacagua, Los Cocos, Radiocentro, one of the Ochoa places for ceramics, and Delta Motors, and the road to Navarrete.
