Caribe Tours bus @ $250RD per person. The comfortable ride is about 3-1/2 hours. Take a cab to the Caribe Tours bus station on the main highway (150 pesos). Remain on the bus until the very last stop. The second stop in Santiago you will have about 15 minutes to get off the bus to stretch your legs and grab a bite to eat.

TAKE A LIGHT JACKET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THEY USE THE EMPTY SEATS TO FREEZE MEAT!

Actually, I am exagerating just a wee bit, but a good book and a light jacket or sweater would be your best travelling partners...

Caribe Tours Sosua-SD will take 4 1/2 hours. Possibly a bit more if traffic is bad.
You can take Metro from Puerta Plata to SD in three hours. The price is 300RD.

Considering the cab ride to Puerta Plata is longer, the cost of the cab is higher and the price of the ticket is more is it worth it?

If you take a Publico car from PP to Sosua you will pay 30RD, or less than one dollar US. It will take about 30 minutes.
