In what circumstances are tips insulting?

i am from northern ireland where there isnt really that much of a tipping culture, yes i tip in restaurants usually 10% but other than that never really tip anything else

what would be the usual services that would require a tip in DR?

im staying 2 weeks all inclusive in the gran ventana hotel
