It depends, I think in most cases with a connection, you get off, get your luggage and take the connecting flight, check in etc all over again! in some cases you switch terminals too..so hopefully your connecting flight is in the same airport!

Do you have to go from one airport to a different airport or from one terminal to another terminal? What city do you need to do this in?

Your post is a little unclear as to how your arrangements were changed. Did you make your initial arrangements with a travel agency? If so, you should ask them if they provide shuttle service between the two airports. Otherwise, you will be required to take care of it yourself.

Also, there may be private shuttle services that you can use between airports. Use Google or Yahoo search engines to find them.

Just a word of caution: watch the time between flights. You should factor in time for checking baggage [unless you are carrying them onboard with you] and going through airport security and customs.

Default landing in one taking off in another

I got my ticket through Travelocity and the original flight was only changing planes withing the same terminal. The Airline change it and now I have to take a complit different flight going from RDU to LGI then JFK. I'm not concern about the time changing and I' no planing to carry too much. I just want to be aware of what I am supposed to do.

theyll tell you what will happen at check in. if its a different airline then you may have to pick up your luggage but you just have to confirm it with the agent when you check in. i know that for some airports (like in atlanta) i've had to pick up my baggage and re-check it before my next flight. its inconvenient but at least you know your bags will get on your connecting flight (hopefully!)

Sounds like you arrive in NYC at LaGuardia, then must get to JFK in order to catch your plane to the DR? Did I interpret that correctly?

If so, you will have to make the transfer, along with your luggage, between the two. You do so by taxi or take the bus that shuttles between the two airports.

JFK - LGA (LIRR) - JFK - New York Airport Service

The Super Shuttle vans may also operate between the two, but I've never tried that.

I have a feeling that LGI you refer to is in fact LGA which is La Guardia airport in NY. If this is the case, there is a shuttle bus I took years ago between LGA and JFK which works out a lot more affordable than taking a cab...although this will depend on how much time you have for your connection.

Good luck

You are right I ment to type LGA and thank you for the info. I do have like three hrs. in between which I believe is time enough for the transfer.

If drloca took the LGA-JFK shuttle bus several years ago, it was Carey and that company just lost its 40+ yrs contract with the airport authorities 2-3 wks ago.

The current shuttle service is the one I provided the link for in my post above. As you can see from the schedule, you should allow yourself at least an hour trip time if you utilize this service.
