Best Way to get to Punta Cana from Puerto Plata?

What is the best way to travel to Punta Cana from Puerto Plata?
Is there a bus service, how much would it cost and how long would it take to get there?

Best way to go would be by plane (takes about an hour), or by taxi (will take you directly to your destination). But these are two costly options. The best way then would be by bus. The Metro or Caribe Tours bus that puts you into Santo Domingo, and then the Expreso Bavaro that will take you to Punta Cana. How long is the bus ride to Santo Domingo, is it about 4 hours? and then to Punta Cana another hour?? also,
how long would it take to go to Samana from Puerto Plata by bus. Thanks!

curious.....are you flying to DR? if so do not fly to Puerto Plata and just go straight to Las Americas [close to Santo Doimngo] or fly to la Romana....or just fly to Punta Cana, save yourself the time and money....if at all possible...

I think you are trying to bite off too much. Unless you have lots of time budgeted for riding on buses, that is.
Samana to Puerto Plata by bus: 3 hours
Puerto Plata-> Santo Domingo by bus: 4 hours depending on traffic
Taxi from either Metro or Caribe Tour to Expresso Bávaro: 1/2 hour
Expresso Bavaro from Santo Domingo to Bavaro/Punta CAna: at least three hours

and that is if there is no waiting around for the bus to leave...
