With Claro you can only have roaming with an active account agreement and not with pre-paid service (using pre-paid calling cards)

You can have Claro pre-paid roaming, but with CDMA phones only

I just tried to call that number and it said it was disconnected. I am in the same boat and am returning to the DR at the end of December and my number is supposed to expire at the beginning. Does anyone have any other suggestions? I can have someone buy me a card down there but I still need to get it loaded to my phone.

Dont worry yourself, The card will expire and all you have to do is buy a new pre paid card to reactivate your phone. You will not lose your number for at least 3 months if you dont refill your balance.

When I was not able to use the service for the DR I sent eztop an email. Here is their response:

I am trying to figure out how much time I have left and when I call *22 I get Spanish....is there a way to get the message in English?
