Required documents to enter dom rep

Doe's any one know for sure what the requirements are
to travel from te u.s to the dom rep?? I have naturalization certificate and drivers license, will this be sufficient? Or is a passport mandatory ?
Would appreciate any input. Thank you

Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative

Effective June 1, 2009, you need a PASSPORT when entering the United States, by air (unless you are under the age of 16) from a non U.S. territory.

No problem getting into the DR but the US won't let you back in. Actually the airline won't let you board unless you have a passport. Check Tambo's link
