Thanks Gregg, I just took a look! Might look into it but I've done that route with RC. Had a great time though and thoroughly recommend it!

I checked out the cruise company's site and the same itinerary is listed at over $900. This company was bought by RCL by the way and is the largest cruise company in Spain. I emailed prieto tours asking for more info and total price with taxes and fees...I'll also post the reply I receive.

Gregg,
Thank you very much, I will contact the agency for further information, I do not know Pullman tours and the ship does look like a very small one. There is not much info or pictures of it.

I did however find another ship sailling from La Romana it is the Costa Mediterenea and at this moment it is sold by Air Transat out of Canada. The Costa.com site does not show it at this time. You can find it on Air Transat

My written spanish is non existent and my spoken spanish is ok if I can use my hands, my eyes when I am face to face, not by phone so I cannot call this agency. I will try writing in english and hope they understand. If I can get more info I will post it.

Thank you again for the info.
Suzanne

I don't know a lot about cruise ships...

Is a ship with a capacity of 1,875 passengers and a gross tonnage of 46,000 small?

The Costa Mediterranea has a capacity of 2,114 but has a gross tonnage of 87,000.

Gregg,

It is a small ship when you compare with the super ships of 90,000 to 120,000 tones these days.
But sometimes a smaller ship is nicer, you do not have to use tenders to go ashore and less waiting time everywhere on the ship.
However I do wonder about the amounts of passengers they seem to be able to pack on this 46,000 tons. It seems high in comparison to others.
Pullman tours are stating that it is a new ship (2009) this should be great but the pictures on their site are poor quality and the site itself is pityfull.
I have written to Prietotours and am waiting for their reply.
