Which is the best mobile network in the DR?

Good evening!
I'm planing to travel by car through the country. I was wondering, which mobile network has the best availability in the Dominican Republik? The northern and eastern parts are of special interest. I don't expect to have any problems around Santo Domingo...
Are there any areas, which have no mobile network at all?

I hope you enjoy your trip. The best coverage wireless is Codetel followed closely by Orange.
you can find both on internet. Both sell phones new and used at low prices (unless you want a real new high class model).
Stores can usually unlock phones also....
