Unhappy Santo Domingo to Punta Cana

I'm traveling to Punta Cana but there are no reasonable flights from Mia to Puj without long lay overs in Santo Domingo. Is there any transportation that I could get that would get me to Punta Cana? Also is Santiago closer to Punta Cana? My friend suggested that I go there and travel over.
Any ideas??? I really need help. My trip is for Nov 5.

Thanks,

What is your origin airport and airline service are you using? This lay over in Santo Domingo seems very unusual. Are you using a charter airline vis a scheduled airline? Are you coming from Europe? Knowing this information some of the forum users may be able to help you attain your goal

Please note American Airlines ( A partner with British Air) has flights direct to PUJ from MIA. If they do not have a direct flight for your schedule they can connect you from Miami to Punta Cana via San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Going to Santiago is not a recommended route for transit to Punta Cana, that if you desire to use land based transportation from there you will travel to Santo Domingo and then onward to Punta Cana, a duration of about 6-8 hours.

Good luck,

Regards,
PJT

There are daily flights from Santo Domingo to Punta Cana, but you have to switch airports (very far away) and the hours might be inconvenient.
