What is the power done in the Dominican Republic?

Is it 220 or 110?

I am traveling there from the US and need to know if I should bring an outlet converter. The last time I was there (a few years ago) I was drunk and my phone needed charged. I looked at the outlet, saw that it looked the same, and plugged my phone in. The phone literally melted from the inside out. I don't want this happening again since my phone is expensive.

POP airport?

What about the other 19 times you were here. Did you not use electricity?

Wow. Thanks for jumping all over me.

No I didn't. I never tried plugging anything of mine until the last trip. I never had a mobile phone or iPod when visiting during my other trips. I am more asking the question for the iPod. I didn't want to plug it in and have it get fried.
