We will be travelling to Puerto Plata after christmas sometime and staying at a resort called the karisma hotels. Does anyone know anything about this place.

Karisma Hotels in the DR is the former Hacienda Resorts in Cofresi about 7 km. west of Puerto Plata.

Better change your reservations to the RIU.
You will not be pleased with the current conditions and problems this hotels have.

I spent two nights at the Hacienda Tropical in July, along with my Dominican wife, our daughter (15 months old at the time) + in-laws with friends, and I loved it. On a break from the regular, somewhat boring, inland Cibao daily routine. Does your post mean that things have changed since July, or do we just look differently at how things are?
