Dr Santana beach resort
Hi everyone, I just came back from my vacation in Domenican Replubic, La Romana. I stayed at the Santana beach resort hotel and casino, it was great, I had a lot of fun. I really enjoyed dancing with the people from the "animation".They were all nice and I miss them all , I wish that will be a way of contacting theese guys specially Elvis who was amazing .If anyone knows this resort and how to keep in touch with them, such email or even the hotel's address, please let me know, I would love to send them a post card. Waiting for a reply Daniela, from Toronto, Canada.

If they didn't give you a number or e-mail, then forget it. They are with other tourists now. If you mail a post card there is very little chance it will arrive in the DR anyway. I suspect "Elvis" is a made up name for a Dominican resort worker.

You are right: I bet a goodly % of Dominican boys if not most of them are named with the usual Hispanic name, "Elvis". They make you feel wanted because you have money and a chance at a visa to Canada.
There are a LOT of threads on this subject - search these forums on "sankie" or "sanky" to see them.
Elvis will be HOT HOT HOT with as many gullible tourists as he can be, as long as there's dough in it for him.

Suspicious minds...
Rick, Elvis is not an uncommon real name in certain circles here. People are called even wierder things... don't get me started... just read through the newspaper and look at some of the journalists' names and those of people mentioned in articles.
Off topic, sorry!

Names?
I'm not going to say that they are sankies but, here come my question.
If "Elvis was that HOT HOT HOT" as you said why he did give you his info or why you didn't after 1 week staying there?.

Yeah!!! Elvis is/can be a real name! There's one here in TO, and I met one in P Plata, and met his mom, bothers & sisters and that's his name!!!
(and NO, no sankie action)!!!! LOL
Was this your first southern vacation? Lots of island guys can try very 'hard' to make you feel 'special'......and the other posters are right-out of sight out of mind.

Daniela, this is how I feel everytime I come back from DR, however, I know better with the guys there. What the other replies say not only apply to the resort workers, but also for the regular guys all over there. You are the one for the week, then you leave and here comes the next plane-full.
I bet if you back as soon as next week, Elvis will treat you like he never met you, you know why? Because he doesnt remember you!
Is like the movie: 50 First Dates.

Elvis the guy from DR
Talldrink,
I think you are right in regards to Elvis, probably he daesnt' remember who I am anymore. I called the hotel not even an hour ago and I asked for him, I tried calling three times and they would tell me that he wasnt around, or that he was at the restaurant ,(excuses?) to call back after 20 minuts; one of the guys told me that he couldnt' talk on the phone.I dont understand, I guess they dont want to have nothing to do after you are gone. Very disappointed!!!!!and sad. should I tried again to see what's going to happen? Will he come on the phone this time?

If you read some of the other threads about Sankies (thats what some are called) you will see what they all think after the tourists are gone.
I hope you did not fall for him, if you did, cut your losses and learn from your fall.
Do a search on 'sankies' and you will see what I mean. Do that before you read the 'positive stories of love in DR' threads....
I wish you the best, stay in touch.
