Default Lovely stay in Sosúa

We just returned from spending a week in Sosúa and loved staying at a private, well-kept villa with its own pool and plenty of security and privacy. I hate to sound like a commercial, but really, if you want something different than the all-inclusive resort experience (in the Puerto Plata area they don't compare to the rest of the Caribbean), you might want to check this out.

It helped that we rented a car and I'm originally from there, so we kind of knew our way around, so for all the dominicanos ausentes out there, look up SunnyVillaHolidays.com (hi Rimma!). They were extremely prompt, helpful, and very honest. We'll be back for more!

I dont know anything about your trip though?

Where did you go in your car? What did you see, what did you do? Where you there while Frances was passing? Did you eat out in any nice restaurants in Sosua?

Glad to hear you had a good time !

Frances was nowhere near Sosúa when we were there (8/23 -8/30), and it skipped it altogether. For restaurants in Sosúa, we liked "La Puntilla de Piergiorgio", but it is on the pricier side. You're better off eating at one the many beachside restaurants in Cabarete (a ten-minute drive east of Sosúa). We basically were beach bums, so didn't do much of anything. Took a snorkeling tour with Paradise Island tours to Monte Cristi. Long (two hours each way in a rickety bus) but so well worth it. It was beautiful and quiet.

Sosua has plenty of gastronomic delights to suit every budget.

I can't enjoy Cabarete when you pay though the nose there. A water in Cabarete is more than a beer in Sosua. I like some of the restaurants in Cabarete but the ones on the beach are over priced.

Awwwww, it is so nice to know, that people appreciate you:-)) I thank you for the lovely post .

I am surprised you haven't visited the restaurants on Sosua, that I have suggested, as they are also great.

Marco, I told her all about your ribs...wait that didn't sound right

Hope to hear from you soon and you were a pleasure to work with also.

And Christine, you will have a great time, I am sure!!!!!!
