Medical attention in Puerto Plata
Last month in Cabarete I fell and dislocated my shoulder (not looking where I was going!) and the 24 hour clinic in Cabarete advised me to go to the Centro Medico Bournigal in Puerto Plata. As we didn't know how to find the clinic and by now it was nearly midnight, we were given the excellent advice - when you get to Puerto Plata, stop at a petrol station and ask the guard to get a motoconcho to guide you, which worked extremely well.
The clinic was quick, efficient and very helpful, and by 2am the x-rays were taken, the shoulder was back and I was out of the anasthetic. The clinic has an arrangement with the insurance company which meant that they would be paid directly. The point I am trying to make is that the quality of care was excellent and hats off to all the staff there.
