villa doradas for new year

i have been to the dominican republic before staying in the north and have recently booked to go for new year, flying out on 29th staying in villa doradas

never stayed here before and was wondering if anyone has any ideas what the hotel is like as in food, accommodation, entertainment also

also whether anyone is going to be there the same time as well

I was there 3 weeks ago.
It was a typical 3 star Playa Dorada resort.
I have stayed at Jack Tar and Paradise.
My room was very similar to the room I had at JT.
A small building with 4 rooms.
The beach at VD is much nicer (wider) than JT and P.
The food is kind of bland but okay.
The Chinese restaurant is horrible.
I found the food at JT better.
Didn't really see much of the entertainment but what I did see looked quite typical.
The pools are nice.
A shallow one with a bar and one deeper one for activities.
Great location if you plan to golf.
Also very close to the plaza.
I would stay here again.
