Sousa Bay Hotel

I am visiting the Dominican Republic on 30th November and staying at the Sousa Bay Hotel - Just been looking at the recent reviews and bit worried about this Hotel and its condition.

Can anyone who has stayed her or knows of the hotel let me know.

Apparently it is in the middle of a building site?

I had 2 friends that stayed there this summer so I've visited the hotel and it's true that there was construction next to it. I think it's for the new casino or something like that. Anyways the hotel was very nice, right on Sosua beach, with great pools. They had a junior suite and the room was beautiful, with a hot tub on the patio, a beautiful view of the bay and cool Presidente everyday in the fridge! Plus it is well located, right in town.
I don't know the rating of the hotel but it looked like a 4 stars. I've visited some of the other hotels in Sosua and this one seemed to be the best of the town (my opinion).

Thanks for that - I think that it spoils the hotel when you get 1 person out of the 1,000 that visit every year saying its less than a 2 star etc....

Feel better now youve put my mind at rest. What with all the storms and everythig els think I would be happy with a lilo in the ocean and a cold beer for 2 weeks lol

I stayed at this hotel when they were doing some repairs after the last earthquake .. I like the hotel it's pleasant to stay there also the staff is really friendly and the buffet was ok ..and it's well located

I'd stay there again in a heartbeat (or maybe even sometime this winter) and would definitely recommend it!
