My Visit to DR 3-25-06

I was in the DR 3-25-06 through 4-3-06 with two girlfriends. We had a wonderful time. We stayed in Luperon at the Luperon Beach Resort. We befriended a lovely young woman who we were put in touch with through someone on the forum.

The resort we stayed in was aesthecially beautiful and located right on the beach. We did some visiting in the town of Luperon and I found the people of the town to be so humble, warm, inviting and friendly.

At the resort we had fun with the animation team and the shows were enjoyable. We met many people also visiting the resort that we wound up hanging out with.

The food at the resort was mediocre. For dinners I would recommend making a reservation at the restaurant, each night they have a different country's native foods.

When I came home and got back in the swing of the daily grind, I sat back for a moment and thought to myself "what am I doing back in this rat race here in the states?" I cried leaving the DR. People that don't know the ways of our world dont have the worries of our magnitude back home and they may not have much either but they are happy with what they have. That is a beautiful gift to see portrayed in people. Although we only visited Puerto Plata on a tour which I liked very much, seemingly there is much territory to be explored in this wonderful country. I loved the countryside!!

Beware of the sankies though!!!! The animation team is very very very friendly, I mean of course it is their job to do so and please the guests and sometimes they really go out of their way to "please the guests" if you get my drift!!

No complaints here .Just be forewarned: do not fall in love with them. Fine to fall in lust, just know that this is a vacation, not a reality, well it's a reality while you are living it. For me it was, but don't expect much!!. It is what it is when it is and when it's over we move on and return to THE REAL WORLD. NO EXPECTIONS=NO PAIN & NO DISAPPOINTMENTS!!

On that note, I have been back for barely one month and what a surprise I am visiting again in July. I have booked my trip!! I am so excited and cannot wait to return.

I will again stay at the Luperon Beach Resort Hotel for a week and I will report my next trip shortly thereafter.[/FONT]
