I hope most people can tell the difference between Jack Daniels and diet coke and Johnny walker and diet coke.....one is scotch the other is bourbon...J-B scotch???........well I have had a full bottle at my house for 12 years!!!!!!!! it never gets opened for some reason . ha ha ha...............
Scotch I hear is a lot like crummy hotel service
they say you have to AQUIRE a taste for it........ ha ha ha ha
I dont want to AQUIRE a taste for anything..

Didn't your parents teach you not to call people names?
Meaning this remark? "squirrelanegra" it is Perlanegra Sr. How would you feel if I was to change your to ****** (I won't even go there!!)
I used to have lots of repect for you and always agree with most of your comments; but Mr. Snyder I have a different opinion about you now!
At the same time, I'll like to apologize for mentioning your name in my post; I really meant Howmar comments, but was in a hurry and typed your name instead. My apologies again!
and with respect to the time many of us take to analize evidences; I guess many of us just use our brain in different ways; not just to type what our fingers feel like. We come here to express our opinions and I did!

Thats why they have insurance.
I dont know these peoples current credit situation but if they have no other problems they can just tell them they contest it and refuse to pay it. Then run a credit check on yourself 6 months later. If it shows up contest that also.If it is the only blemish on your credit you can force them to remove it. Just dont let them bully you. Your using their credit card so you have protection.If they wont issue the credit "force them to by not paying and contesting it".
At this point I would also look for a US presense of this resort or on of its owners. If they do in fact have a company or residence in the US I would sue them here for damages also just to teach them a lesson.

With third party disputes you are not the only one to decide who pays the bill (or not.) You are not buying "credit card dispute protection if I didn't have a good time" It goes something like this--you buy a product-shipped to your house-product is defective-call Amex and they put your charge on hold. They contact shipper and investigate. Determine by mailing to you a determination of who should be paying.
Now with this particular case-they hand over their card-sign it-get on the bus-go home and rant they had a miserable time.What is their defense?
That they didn't want to go to a local court and settle it in front of a judge?
I don't think that's going to cut it with a CC provider? Doesn't the hotel have a say in the matter? That's why we have courts and a justice system. Oh, I know, there is no justice in a third world for a loud, ****ed off American, so don't go there. That's the obvious.
IMHO they don't have a chance in hell to get rid of the charge without damaging their credit.

No one is arguing that customer shouldn't be treated right or with out respect. Customer service should be the prime goal of the resprt.
Now regarding this couple, I can see where they were coming from. Having worked in customer service sometime in my life, I have come across many of these types of folks.
From what I gather from reading the first post is that the customers were not a very happy-go-lucky type folks. They went in there to demand service and to make the emplyees run circles around them. There are some people who can't get anything right or appreciate anything that is offered to them. I get patients like them in my clinic every ones in a while. They are never happy no matter what you do for them.
These people went there in attack mode. They complained from the first moment they stepped foot inside the resort. First the ashtrays, then they needed 2, then they had no hot water, then no towels then food was lousy, then no food service at 2am then bar wouldn't serve them 10 jack danials / hr. Then they had to walk to the next bar then they called one manager, then another one then another one and woke up the last one, then they yelled at front desk, then they threaten to call tour operator, then they woke up the general manager, not once, but everyday. They were given free food at a restaurant, they were given a free night, but it seems it was not enough, the lady ate so much and drunk that she couldn't open up her room door and then couldn't hold her own bowel movemets, then her husband breaks an expensive door. This is all posted in one post alone. Can you imagine what kind of a hell they put through the employees in the resort? I bet the resort had 2 thousand other folks who were going about their business and enjoying the vacation, yet the management and the employees were busy running around for these folks who only worried about smoking and drinking jack danials and then pooping in pants.
I am glad I was not there in the same resort with these folks. I have spend many days in resorts in all over this island and I never had to worry about the issues these people were complaining about.
I say, you just can't satisfy all the folks at all costs. Some go there just to stir up problems.

IMO, once you dilute any good liquor with diet coke or any other carbonated beverage you have ruined the liquor so as long as you stick with whiskey/whiskey vice whiskey/scotch, etc., you are ok. Now i've been sober for 9 years, but in my many years of professional drinking this was never disproved.

Anybody care to guess how many vacation days this couple have been comped to over the past few years. There a many professional victims around. Anybody wanna bet this woman has more than once presented an inflated dry-cleaning bill to a restaurant because the waiter supposedly spilled something, or shook down an airline for a credit because her reading light didn't work. This woman is no newbie in articulating her tale of woe. I would bet, as bad as her vacation was alleged to have been, she will happily return to the same hotel if presented with a free stay.

As I previously said, it’s the ‘mental disposition’ which I find so fascinating. As usual if you supply a little rope there are those that will climb up on that limb and hang their self. In the prior post you will notice that there are those that will hang their selves more than once.
As mentioned it was undoubtedly the “use our brain in different ways” which was the reason that there were those that posted in a childish way and was therefore the (understandable?) reason to rant and attack the OP. You can justify it all you want but the fact remains what you and a few other members did wasn’t right and not in keeping of the DR1 way and the reason we are here.
Now let us talk about my loss of your respect and its bearing on the operations of the world or the price of tea in China. Need I say more???????
When you resort to vituperativeness in your posts as you did and as HOWMAR just did you serve no useful purpose to this board. If it is your desire to be useless then far be it from me to rant about it unless you should be so bold as to attempt to attack me for your ineptness. (I just noticed you quickly jumped on HOWMAR’s band wagon) not suprising but typical….. Wasn’t something mentioned about supplying enough rope???
If it is your intension to try to attack me then I will forewarn you that it is a complete waste of time. It has been attempted by better people then you to no avail.
Let me close this post out with a comment about your statement about voicing an opinion. Remember what they say about opinions – Just like axxholes everyone has one…….
